Terms of Use

Effective 19 October 2026

The short version. Second Take is a practice tool. Your recordings stay on your iPhone and you're responsible for what you say into it. Only record yourself, or people who have agreed. Tighten and Clean Cut are suggestions and can be wrong. Second Take is not coaching, therapy or speech-language advice. Second Take Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold by Apple, which you can cancel any time in your Apple Account settings.

1. Agreement and who we are

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and SocialVibe LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("we", "us"), at 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. They cover the Second Take: Speak Sharper app ("Second Take", "the app"), Second Take Pro and this website. By downloading or using Second Take you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

If you got Second Take from Apple's App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If the two conflict on the licence to use the app, Apple's agreement governs.

2. Who can use Second Take

You must be at least 13 years old to use Second Take, or older if the law where you live sets a higher age for using apps like this without a parent's consent. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms for you and is responsible for any purchases.

3. The app and the free tier

Second Take gives you a speaking prompt, records your answer on your iPhone, shows a transcript and results, and offers a tighter version of your answer. It needs an iPhone running iOS 26 or later and works in English only for now. Tighten needs an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, with it turned on; on other iPhones the app offers Clean Cut instead.

The free tier includes today's prompt every day, the full results screen and Clean Cut. Your first full loop also includes Tighten and the compare card. We may add, change or remove features, prompts or packs over time, in the free tier and in Pro.

4. Second Take Pro subscriptions

Second Take Pro adds unlimited takes and retakes, Tighten on every take, Prep mode, every prompt pack and full history.

  • Prices. Second Take Pro costs $4.99 a month or $34.99 a year in the United States. Prices in other countries are set in local currency and shown in the App Store and in the app before you buy, and may include taxes where required.
  • Free trial. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial with either plan. A free trial is available once per Apple Account per subscription group. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged for the plan you chose. If you buy a subscription during a trial, any unused part of the trial ends.
  • Payment and auto-renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple Account subscription settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds. Apple handles all billing and refunds under Apple's own policies. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds for App Store purchases ourselves. Your rights under consumer protection law are not affected.
  • Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Price changes follow Apple's rules: Apple tells you in advance and, where Apple's rules or the law require it, asks for your consent before an increase applies to your subscription. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the new price takes effect.
  • Restoring. To use Pro on a new or reset iPhone, sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Restore purchases in the app's Settings.

5. Your recordings and content

Your takes, transcripts, Prep mode questions and results are yours. They stay on your iPhone, as our Privacy Policy explains, and we never receive them. Because of that, we can't recover them for you if they are deleted or lost.

You are responsible for what you say into Second Take and for anything you choose to share from it, such as a compare card. In particular:

  • Second Take is designed for practising your own speaking. If anyone else's voice will be picked up, get their consent before you record. Laws on recording conversations vary, and some places require everyone's consent.
  • Don't use Second Take to record anyone secretly, or to record conversations, calls or meetings without the permission of the people in them.
  • Don't put information into Prep mode or your takes that you don't have the right to use, such as someone else's confidential material.

6. Tighten, Clean Cut and scores

Tighten uses Apple's on-device model to rewrite your answer. Clean Cut removes fillers and hedges using rules in the app. The transcript comes from Apple's speech recognition. All of these can be inaccurate: speech can be misheard, a rewrite can change your meaning, leave out something important or add something you didn't say, and a word can be marked as a filler or hedge when you meant it.

Treat Tighten, Clean Cut, the transcript, the Sharpness score and the other counts as suggestions for practice. Check them before you rely on them for anything important, such as an interview answer, a pitch, a speech or anything with legal, medical, financial or professional consequences. You decide what you actually say.

We don't promise any particular result from using Second Take, such as getting a job, closing a sale or giving a better speech.

7. Not professional advice

Second Take is a self-practice tool. It is not professional coaching, therapy, counselling, or speech-language pathology, and it doesn't diagnose or treat any speech, voice, language, fluency or anxiety condition. If you have concerns about stuttering, voice or language difficulties, or anxiety about speaking, please talk to a qualified professional.

8. Acceptable use

Don't use Second Take or its share cards to break any law, to harass, threaten or impersonate anyone, or to record people without their consent. Don't copy, scrape, resell or redistribute the app's prompts or content. Don't try to get around the subscription or purchase system, or to interfere with the app or this website.

9. Intellectual property and licence

Second Take, including its software, design, name, logo, prompts, prompt packs, scoring and written content, belongs to SocialVibe LLC or our licensors and is protected by law.

We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Second Take on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, as allowed by these Terms and the App Store's Usage Rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense or redistribute the app, except where the law gives you that right regardless of these Terms. These Terms don't give you any other rights to our intellectual property. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

10. Apple App Store terms

If you downloaded Second Take from the App Store, you and we acknowledge that:

  • these Terms are between you and SocialVibe LLC only, not Apple, and we, not Apple, are solely responsible for Second Take and its content;
  • the licence in section 9 is limited to use on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the app may be accessed by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing where Apple allows it;
  • we, not Apple, are solely responsible for any maintenance and support for the app, as set out in these Terms or as required by law, and Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support;
  • if the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the app; to the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation regarding the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses caused by a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility, to the extent they can't be disclaimed under these Terms;
  • we, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws;
  • if a third party claims that the app or your possession and use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim;
  • you confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties;
  • you must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app, such as your wireless data service agreement;
  • questions, complaints or claims about the app go to us at the contact details in section 16;
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and once you accept these Terms, Apple has the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

11. Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, Second Take and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that transcripts, scores or rewrites will be accurate, or that every feature will work on every iPhone. Some features depend on Apple's software and on your iPhone's capabilities and settings. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so they may not all apply to you.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, SocialVibe LLC and its members, managers, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, opportunities or goodwill, arising from your use of Second Take, from relying on its transcripts, scores or rewrites, or from anything you share from it. Our total liability for any claim relating to Second Take is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Second Take Pro in the 12 months before the claim and 50 US dollars. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or, where the law says so, for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Termination

You can stop using Second Take at any time by deleting the app. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a Second Take Pro subscription; cancel it in your Apple Account settings as described in section 4.

If you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, your licence to use Second Take ends and you must stop using the app. Sections 5 to 7, 9 and 11 to 15 continue to apply after these Terms end.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If you have a problem, please email support@getsecondtake.app first so we can try to sort it out.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms takes away the protection of mandatory laws of the country or state where you live, including any right to bring a claim in your local courts.

15. Changes and general terms

We may update these Terms. We'll change the effective date above and, for material changes, give notice in the app or on this website before they take effect. If you keep using Second Take after a change takes effect, the new Terms apply. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them to a successor. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and, where it applies, Apple's licence agreement are the whole agreement about Second Take.
